I have a number of roses and they are about three years old, when I first got them they had large roses and now they are small. I fertilize them with special rose food..is there anything that can get them large again? They bare a lot of roses..but small ones. Thank you(this was my 2nd question Juanita |
You didn't mention whether or not you've pruned your roses. Pruning them back in December or January will help renew the plants and encourage healthy new growth. The larger the canes, the more leaves and flowers they will produce. When the flowers are spent, cut off the flowering stems down to a 5 leaflet leaf. This is where new flowering stems will develop. Eventually, with proper pruning, your roses will again develop nice, large roses. |
