The leader on my white pine is brown(dead). I assume some bug has decided this was good eating. What can I do so the rest of my trees do not inherit these also?
Thank you!!!

The problem might be associated with insects, but the dead top might also indicate a root problem. Watch to see if the problem spreads slowly downward. If so, it's probably insect; if the decline is rapid, it's most likely some kind of root rot. You can apply a systemic soil drench to control any insect pests. Merit or Bayer Advanced Tree and Shrub Insect control are two products but there are lots of systemic insecticides on the market so take your pick. Best wishes with your pine!
