My tomato plants have a lot of fruit on them now so I was wondering if I should trim some of the stems off in order for more sunlight to ripen the tomatoes |
Actually, the sunlight might burn the tender skins of your tomatoes. They will ripen when they are mature and don't actually need direct sunshine to ripen. In fact, you can pick tomatoes that are still green and ripen them indoors on your kitchen counter where there's no sunshine at all! I'd just leave the plant alone and not prune it at all. You'll get a great harvest and no sunburned tomatoes if you just allow it to grow as it is. |
