I have a climbing hydranga that has been over a trellis for 5-6 years - only a few blooms starting last year - very green and healthy - just not many flowers - maybe not enough daylight? it gets a limited number of hours of full sun |
You didn't mention whether or not you regularly prune your hydrangea. Pruning might make a difference but it's been my experience that they are slow to bloom (sometimes 8 years!) but once they do, they produce lots and lots of flowers. I'd just be patient with it. From your description it sounds healthy and planted in the right site. Just continue to give it TLC and eventually it will reward you with tons of flowers. Enjoy! |
