My Stella D'oro lillies have really been stopped by the intense heat. can they be cut back (like we do to grasses in the winter) to promote another bloom time later ---maybe in the fall? |
The leaves are important to manufacture and transport energy back to the roots of your plants so don't just routinely cut the entire plant back. You can certainly remove any withered and dry leaves, but allow the rest of the leaves to remain on the plant. I know they won't look attractive but as long as they are green they are doing their jobs. Once they wither and die you can remove them from the plant. |
