|Just for kicks I put a sprouting cloves of garlic and shallot into the ground...and low and behold they're taking off!
Please advise me on what to do when it comes time to harvest these crops. I have no clue on how to manage them.
|Surprise! What fun for you! Wait until the tops of the plants die down on their own and then harvest your treasures. The foliage will turn yellow and then brown. Pull the plants up and allow them to air dry until the skin becomes papery. At that point you can either consume them or store them for later use. You can even separate and replant the garlic cloves for even more plants next year. Enjoy.|
