I PLANTED SQUASH BUT DON'T REMEMBER WHAT KIND ALL I KNOW IS IT'S BIG AND DARK GREEN KINDA LOOKS LIKE CUCUMBERS HAS A SOFT SKIN MY FINGERNAIL GOES RIGHT INTO IT WHAT KIND DO I HAVE I HAVE ALREADY TOOK IT OFF THE VINE SO HOW CAN I COOK IT

From your description I'd say you are growing zucchini. It's a tender and mild tasting summer squash. You can grate it and use it raw in salads, cut it into strips and eat it raw (I like to dip it in Ranch Dressing), or you can slice it like you would a cucumber and cook it with some onions to make a nice vegetable side dish. Enjoy!
