can knockout roses be pruned in July and start to bloom again. They are out of control and leggy. Were prunes in early spring to 18 |
Knock Out Roses can be pruned throughout the growing season. Try not to remove more than about one third of the live material, though, or you may stress the plants too much - especially in such hot weather. If you need to prune them back more than about a third, wait until this fall and prune again. After pruning your Knock Out Roses will take a few weeks to recover before you see new growth and new flowers so pruning now will retard future flower development until late summer. Best wishes with your roses. |
