Hi. On one of my cucumbers and one of my green peppers there were a few fruit that had a deformed spot on their skin, where the skin did not seem to cover the flesh of the vegetable. What would cause this? The only thing I have used in my garden is Sevens Dust for the bugs.

If an insect pierces the skin it can cause the symptoms you describe. These wounds can happen before the insect dies from exposure to Sevin. All it takes is a microscopic puncture and the tissue beneath the skin can die. The fruits are still edible - just cut away the damaged portion.
