|Hi. On one of my cucumbers and one of my green peppers there were a few fruit that had a deformed spot on their skin, where the skin did not seem to cover the flesh of the vegetable. What would cause this? The only thing I have used in my garden is Sevens Dust for the bugs.

|If an insect pierces the skin it can cause the symptoms you describe. These wounds can happen before the insect dies from exposure to Sevin. All it takes is a microscopic puncture and the tissue beneath the skin can die. The fruits are still edible - just cut away the damaged portion.
