Do I take the stems off my orchid when the flowers fall off or will that harm the plant? Thanks, Audrey

If you cut off the old flowers as they fade, cutting just above dormant buds that are located below the flower, new flowers will develop on the stem. When no more flowers develop the stem will begin to die down. At that time you can safely cut off the old flowering stem. Enjoy your orchid.
