HI, I AM IN PHOENIX ARIZONA AREA, EAST VALLEY. I HAVE ROMA TOMATOE PLANT. EVERY TIME I GET A NEW TOMATOE STARTED SOMETHING IS CHEWING THE BOTTOM OF THE TOMATOE OFF. THE PLANT IS IN A CONTAINER. CAN YOU GIVE ME ANY ADVICE? THANKS, BILL |
The culprit might be birds or may be beetles. Why not try caging your tomato plant and draping bird netting over the top to protect the developing fruits? This barrier will keep birds away but not beetles. If you're still getting damage you might try using rotenone or similiar organic pesticide. Best wishes with your tomatoes. |
