my lily plants are taken over by lady bugs-what do I do to be rid of them? I also just discovered that my iris bulbs are being eaten by some fat white worms-what do I do?

Lady bugs feed on soft bodied insects such as aphids but they don't feed on plant leaves. Red lily beetles, on the other hand, do damage lily plants. Check to make sure which insect you have on your lilies. If they are red lily beetles you can control them with a neem oil based insecticide such as Rose Defense.

Sounds like iris borers are damaging your irises. You should be able to control them with insecticides. Two options are acephate (Orthene) or spinosad (Bulls-Eye). A repeat treatment 10-14 days after the first application may be necessary. Be sure to follow label directions.
