I purchased the Topsy Turvy and have planted cherry tomatoes and a bigger tomatoe type. I use Miracle Grow Soil and water every other day with a weekly fertilizer. I have had only 1 tomatoe fully grown from each plant. However, no more have produced. I get lots of blooms but no actual tomatoe will grow. I don't understand. Please help if you can. Thank you!! |
How disappointing for you! Sometimes flowers will drop prematurely or without setting fruit because of moisture stress (make sure the soil is evenly moist), or due to overfertilization with nitrogen, or because of extreme temperatures -- such as an extended heat spell (days over 90) or extra warm nights (over 80). Tomatoes do not need insects for pollination. Instead, the pollen drops when the plants are shaken by the wind. You can try giving the plant a shake for 15-20 seconds once or twice a day to dislodge the pollen, just in case this particular plant is in a very still location. I hope this helps! |
