Check to make sure the affected areas are getting sufficient water. Sometimes sprinklers don't reach every part of the lawn and hand watering might be necessary until you can remedy the situation. If you're sure the sprinklers are hitting the spots, dig out some of the affected lawn and inspect the soil and the root system. You may find grubs have damaged the roots. If so, treat with a grub control product. If not, water may be the answer to perking up the lawn. Water deeply to encourage deep root growth. Hope this helps!
