|We generally recommend you compost feces on their own rather than adding them to your compost pile. Feces will break down if you simply bury them in the ground. If you add them to your compost pile you may introduce pathogens that will not break down even in the heat generated by a well managed compost pile. You won't be able to see the pathogens but if you spread the compost over your landscape or use it in your vegetable garden, you may have trouble getting rid of the pathogens in the future. I'd err on the side of safety and keep the dog feces out of the compost pile.
