I tried to grow some gape tomatoes in pots. They seem to be dropping off the vine before they are able to turn red.

One of the symptoms of early blight is the premature dropping of fruit so you'll want to carefully monitor the leaves for signs of wilt, browning, or other symptoms of disease. Water stress can also cause green tomatoes to drop. It's important to keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy wet during the growing season. If the soil is flooded and then experiences a drought, the plant will react by dropping the fruit. I hope this information helps you determine just what might be going on with your cherry tomato plant.
