What should I do about iris' that haven't bloomed in a few years. Lots of green, but no flowers. |
If your irises are overcrowded they will compete for sunlight, moisture and nutrients instead of producing flowers. I'd dig them up late this summer, amend the planting bed with organic matter and replant the irises so they have ample room to grow and bloom. Be sure they get at least 6 hours of sunshine each day, feed them next spring when they begin to grow, and I'll bet they flower beautifully for you next year. Enjoy! |
