Water restrictions are in effect in many cities, so I'm looking for creative ways to best take care of my lawn. This may sound crazy, but are there certain ways I can mow my lawn to help it grow again?

It helps if you mow high in the summertime and leave the clippings on the lawn.
I mow when the grass blades are three inches tall ? then only remove one third of the blade. This higher level helps shade the soil and keeps the roots a little cooler so the grass doesn't suffer quite so much heat stress. Give it a try - I think you'll see a difference in the performance of your lawn. Best wishes with your turf!
