I have a 2 year purple coneflower. I live in Zone 6. A stem at a time keeps dying and turns brown. I can't see any pests and don't know what is doing it. Maybe a mole eating the roots or something? Help. |
Could be underground root problems or a fungal disease that has developed at the soil level. Check the stems carefully to see if they are rotted at the soil level. You may need to dig your plant to inspect the root system. If you find mushy or damaged roots, cut them away and replant your coneflower plant. Hope this helps! |
