Our front lawn has two huge holes(they have grown over time). Should I fill them, if so with whjat?. My Orchids have white stuff on them, which now seem to have gotten on my other plants nearby-should I throw them out? Thanks

I'd fill the holes with topsoil then either overseed or take plugs from your existing lawn and plant them in the bare spots. Sounds like your orchids have an infestation of mealybugs and yes, they can crawl onto other plants. They are difficult to control once the population gets large so your best approach might be to toss the infested plants and replace them with healthy new specimens.
