Had a few straw like spots on lawn. We applied insect killer down on 7/7. We pulled out straw colored grass & is now dirt. Were afraid weeds will come in. Can we seed now, if so which type of seed do you recommend. We have full sun in these areas. I live in Commack, N.Y.We Have ben watering every day, except when it rains.

I'd rake the bare areas, work in a little compost and then overseed them with a mixture of kentucky bluegrass and perennial ryegrass. Both will take the summer heat and the seeds will germinate in about 7 days if you plant them now.
