my new canes and other vegetables in my garden are turning black on the end of the leaves and closing up. Any idea why? Thanks, Pam

Black stem tips usually indicate a fungal disease but I can't tell for sure without inspecting the plants. I'd be inclined to prune off the affected plant parts both to stop the spread of fungal spores and to encourage healthy new growth. Best wishes with your plants.
