Marathon sod is a tall fescue turf so you won't see a whole lot of difference in the physical appearance between your front and back yards. The advantage is that Marathon develops a very deep root system so it won't be as susceptible to drought and heat as other lawn types might be. It remains green all year around and requires less water than other turf varieties. Good luck with your new lawn.
