After chopping down a tree, I've noticed that my lawns have been infested with a different breed of weeds. It looks branch like and and even after spraying Roundup, it grows right back. Unfortunately for my lawn, it also kills the grass in that area where the weeds are growing. Any hints?

I'm not sure what the persistent weed might be so why not pull one up and take it into your local cooperative extension office or well staffed nursery for help with identification? While Round Up will kill most weeds, there are a few it won't bother. Since Round Up is a vegetation killer, I wouldn't use it on the lawn. Use something a little more turf friendly such as Ortho Weed Be Gon Max. Applied according to label directions it won't hurt your lawn. Hope you find out what that persistent weed is so you can use a product specifically formulated to kill it off!
