I am looking to thin my daylillies and was wondering if I can do it now, July in Indiana, and then transplant to another part of the yard? Thanks- |
Transplanting in mid-summer can be really stressful on plants so I usually suggest waiting until early fall or early next spring. While you can certainly dig and transplant your daylilies now, they won't establish their root systems until the weather cools a bit, which will put them at a disadvantage when trying to tolerate the summer heat. I think I'd wait! Best wishes with the move. |
