I live in West Texas where summer temps are upper 90s. I have amaryllis that have no shade and little mulch. Will adding more mulch help as they are turning yellow? Also, should I prune them now? Thank you. |
Mulch will help moderate soil temperatures and slow water evaporation so I'd go ahead and apply it around your amaryllis. Wait until the foliage turns completely yellow and then prune it off. Your amaryllis will rest for a few months and then send up that spectacular flower. Best wishes with your amaryllis. |
