I found 2-3 inch long green worms eating my tomato plants. They have pretty much destroyed them. What are these pests and how do I get rid of them? |
Tomato hornworms are the larvae of Sphinx moths and they can grow to huge proportions - and they can defoliate a tomato plant in no time at all. You can handpick and destroy them or you can apply Bt (bacillus thuringensis) which is sold as Thuricide or Dipel in your garden center. It is safe to use on tomato plants but be sure to apply according to label directions. |
