I'm think of planting African Iris under a small oak tree which still gets a lot of sun. I'd like to know if this plant will survive there and what do I fertilize it with?

African Iris is hardy in Florida. It grows and flowers best in full sunshine and as long as the area gets lots of sun it should be fine. As a rule these plants do not need to be fertilized but you can feed it each spring with a general purpose garden fertilizer such as a 10-10-10.
