my potted jasmine leaves burned in scorching heat. I moved the pot to shady area. Should I just cut the leaves off or cut the vines back?

I'd prune the jasmine back to remove the dead leaves and stems. Jasmine will develop flowers on the new growth so pruning it back will make it more attractive by removing the sunburned foliage, and will promote lots of flowers. Good luck with your jasmine.
