My son lives in south central Texas and has asked about a tree in his yard. It has flower? pods shaped like a heart paper thin and about as big as your hand. Is this enough info to determine what kind of tree it is?

That's really not enough information to base an identification on but I wonder if the tree is a Jacaranda? The seed pods are huge and heart-shaped. A better way to identify a tree is by the leaf shape, flower type and color (and season of flowering). Or, you might have your son take the seed pod into a local nursery for some help with identification. Hope we guessed right!
