If it has flowered in the past but not this year, the problem is most likely weather related unless you pruned it back quite hard last fall or this spring. Blue flowering hydrangeas produce flowers on the new growth of the season that emerges from old growth. If winter weather killed all the old stems down to ground level or if you pruned off all the old wood, you won't get flowers this year. However, the growth that develops this summer will become the old wood for next year's flowering growth. Hope you get lots of flowers next spring! |
