Would it be possible to plant a long row of rose of sharon to create a privacy barrier in summer?

Sounds like you know that Rose of Sharon is deciduous so there will be no privacy during the fall and winter months, but these plants leaf out and flower nicely in the summertime. If the site is sunny and well drained, you can plant Rose of Sharon 3-4 feet apart to provide a thick privacy hedge. Trim as required to keep the plants thick and bushy and they'll make an attractive hedge for you. Enjoy!
