i have a staghorn sumac, male. any suggestions on what to watch for as far as diseases, blites, bugs, anything that could damage or kill it. it'sbeautiful...less than 1 year old, 8 ft. tall, 7 ft. wide and strong. |
You've chosen a very adaptable plant, with no particular insect or disease problems. It's native to your area so it will be happy in regular garden soil and will tolerate your weather without any stress at all. The only potential problem might be a root rot if the soil doesn't drain quickly or if it's in a low pocket where irrigation or rain water might collect.
