Baby tears are shallow rooted plants and should not harm your iris. In fact, the groundcover can help slow water evaporation, suppress weeds and help keep the soil cool. The only downside is that your irises will need to be dug every 4-5 years and separated which means you'll need to dig the Baby Tear's up as well. Aside from this caution, there's no reason not to plant it in your iris bed. Enjoy your garden!
