We live in MN. and have a Northern Redbud tree, but don't know the age of it. It is only about 15 feet tall now- will it get bigger? We also noticed that the bark is peeling away from the tree at the base up to about 12 inches. Is this serious? Thanks, Julie

Shedding or peeling bark is normal for a redbud so I don't think it is anything to be concerned about, especially if it is putting out healthy new growth. Redbuds can reach 15-25' in height so I think yours will get larger as it ages. Enjoy your garden!
