What does 1 part soil ammendment mean in planting instructions

It means to incorporate compost or other organic matter to your soil. One part by volume - so if you dig out enough soil to fill a 5 gallon bucket, you'll want to add one gallon (by volume) of compost to the soil, mix it all together and then use that to fill in the hole after planting your plant.
