Our new sod is 4 days old. I'm noticing the seams are turning brown in several areas. Giving it lots of water, as directed and a mid afternoon misting. Is it dying? We're in a hot drought now. Thank you so much!

It may be that grass roots along the seams are not making good contact with the soil and as a result the roots cannot penetrate down into the soil. Try lifting the sod near the browning seams. If it comes up easily, work some compost into the soil and replace the sod, then stomp on it with your foot to make sure the roots are making good contact with the soil. Water as usual and the roots should work down into the soil and the grass should revive and look green again. Best wishes with your new sod!
