|You can work some compost or other organic matter into the bed prior to planting your avocado tree. Work it into a large area, not just the planting hole. The organic matter will help hold moisture and will release nutrients as it breaks down and will also encourage the roots to grow out away from the planting hole. Avocado trees grow best in full sunshine but if your plant has been growing in shady conditions you'll want to wait until this winter to plant it in a sunny spot - otherwise the leaves will develop sunscald. Good luck with your avocado tree!
