We pulled all the plants up (tomatoes, green beans, peppers, cukes, melons) but now there are tons of weeds in the garden and grass.....How can we kill off all the vegetation and get it ready to plant again without ruining the soil? Also, the soil is vvvvveeeerrryyy moist. What should we do to level it out?

Since you need to amend your soil to help it drain better, the easiest approach is to rototill the area, rake out all the weeds, then spread 4-5 inches of compost over the top of the soil and rototil it in to a depth of 8-10 inches. This will take care of both problems and get your new garden off to a good start. Hope you have a great harvest.
