Aerating - Knowledgebase Question

my lawn is badly compacted, trucks, bobcats etc. I'm going to use a core aerator. Should I do it while it is bone dry, or wait until there is more moisture content.

It will be much easier to aerate when the soil is moist. If it is dried out, the core aerator won't be able to penetrate the soil deeply enough to do much good. Either water your lawn deeply prior to aerating or wait for the rain to moisten it for you. Good luck with your project.
