I bought a lot of plants back in April/May. For various reasons, mostly 2 hand surgeries, I was not able to plant them all but most of them are still doing fairly well. Is it too late to plant now?

As long as they are growing well in the containers, why not wait until the weather begins to cool? You can plant them in September and they'll still have time to establish before cold weather sets in. Best wishes with your garden!
