SAFETY HARBOR, Fl
|noticed your advice today said plant bulbs 2X their width. UF agent told me to plant just below surface as they didn't like much moisture. Which is correct for the Afr. Iris?

|Your extension agent is correct. African Iris grows from rhizomes and should be planted near the surface of the soil, and covered with about an inch of soil. Rhizomes should be planted just below the soil surface; bulbs should be buried twice as deep as they are wide. Hope this clarifies things for you.
