Are their any bulbs that will do well planted n in pots on a north facing veranda? |
According to your zip code you are in USDA zone 5A, not zone 9, so that will make a difference in the kinds of bulbs you can grow. In general, plants in containers suffer more winter damage than the same plants in the ground because the containers can freeze solid. If you can store the containers in an unheated garage during the winter months, you can grow just about any spring blooming bulb. If you cannot store the containers somewhere out of the elements, you may have success with Alliums. Not much else will tolerate the winter cold. Wish I had better news for you. |
