I have about 25 well-spaced newly planted shrubs that I drip irrigate. What is the easiest way to keep them fertilized? |
Your shrubs can be fertilized once each spring, just as new growth begins. Since you're drip irrigating, you can install a feeder on the water source (holds pelletized fertilizer) or you can use a soil drench (liquid fertilizer such as Miracle Gro). I just sprinkle granular fertilizer at the base of each shrub and scratch it into the soil each spring. A time release fertilizer will slowly dissolve as the soil gets moist and will feed all spring and summer long. Enjoy your garden! |
