|Sounds like a root stress problem but I can't positively diagnose it without seeing the plant and its growing conditions. You can try watering deeply then allowing the top inch of soil to dry out before watering again. When the weather cools you can prune the plant back to remove the wilted leaves and stems. Hope your hydrangea perks up again!
