What type of soil PH do roses bushes like best?

Although roses can survive a wide range of pH, they prefer their soil slightly acidic (6.5) to near neutral (7.1). If the pH is too low or too high, nutrients can be bound up in the soil and will not be available to the plant. There are kits you can purchase to check your soil's pH if you're uncertain what range your soil falls into.
