Prunning a plum tree - Knowledgebase Question

We have a plum tree in our yard that we planted 3 yrs ago it is very tall has lots of limbs and some plums this year we want to trim it but know the right time or way help

Most plums are pruned in June. It might not be too late in the year for you to prune now. You can shorten the tree branches all around and then remove any misplaced branches. Simply shortening the branches will encourage new lateral branches next year, and more fruit next season.
