I am new to gardening and I thought I was in zone 6 but a friend said it was zone 5. Now I'm not sure. Could you please clarifg this for me. How will the plants I've already put in be affected. I live in Pennsylvania and my zipcode is 15101.Thank you.Carol

Your zip code places you in USDA gardening zone 6A. If you plant something rated hardy to zone 5, it will be fine because it can tolerate colder temperatures than your garden will experience. On the other hand, planting things that are rated hardy only to zone 7 and above will result in winter damage or winter kill. So, to be on the safe side, choose plants that are hardy to zone 6 and below. Hope this clarifies things for you.
