I live in Midwest WI. I have a corner in my yard that I want to plant a shrub or small tree. Problem is either it is under water or signicantly dry. Which tree or shrub do you suggest that will tolerate wet and or dry soil? |

There are some plants that will tolerate dry soils (usually sold as drought tolerant) and there are some plants that will tolerate soggy soils - but I'm not aware of any shrubs that will tolerate seasonal dry and wet soils. A possible exception might be a native shrub. The University of Wisconsin Extension has published the following brochure with lists of native plants along with the conditions they will adapt to: http://clean-water.uwex.edu/pu... I hope this publication helps you find just the right shrub for your garden. |
