|About the only way to stop crabapple production is to prune your tree after it has finished flowering and before it sets fruit. There are growth hormones available to licensed arborists that can be sprayed on the tree during the flowering period that will stop fruit production so if it's important to you not to have fruit, you can hire a professional to make the applications.
